Idaho 4-H Ambassadors

For many years it has been recognized that the best spokespersons for 4-H are capable, older 4-H members. Nothing sells the program better than 4-H members telling their stories where the public can see and hear what they have accomplished in 4-H.

The purpose of 4-H Ambassadors is to promote 4-H to youth, parents, potential leaders, donors, and the general public. A 4-H Ambassador is a teen 4-H member representative of the 4-H program, who speaks on behalf of the larger membership.

To learn more about how to become a 4-H Ambassador or how to start a program in your county, read the Idaho 4-H Ambassador Handbook.

Each year the Idaho Ambassador training is held in November. This program is for 4-H'ers who are freshmen or older and who have completed at least two years of 4-H Club work.

The 2009 Ambassador Training Conference will be held at Camp Ida-Haven in McCall, Idaho, Novmber 20-22. Applications are due by October 19, 2009.
