Bonnie Johnson Memorial Horsemanship Award
Nominations are now being accepted for the 2007 Bonnie Johnson Memorial Horsemanship Award. Bonnie Johnson, who was known throughout the Northwest for her knowledge of horses, her horsemanship clinics and as a 4-H and open horse show judge, loved working with young people. There was nothing she enjoyed more than helping someone overcome a difficult training problem with a horse.
This award in her honor is given to a young person from Washington, Oregon or Idaho, age 8-18 as of January 1, who has made significant progress in overcoming a horse training challenge.
Nominations may be submitted by anyone with first-hand knowledge of the work done by the youth and the progress made. A Bonnie Johnson Horsemanship pin will be awarded to the winner, along with a $100 cash award. Bonnie’s daughters, Kay, Tara Lee, and Rena, will serve as the selection committee and their decision will be considered final.
