Johannesen Leadership Scholarship
A $1000 college scholarship is available to graduating Idaho 4-H members who have been in 4-H at least 4 years and are currently enrolled. Overall leadership and 4-H achievement shall be the primary consideration. Community involvement, academic achievement and financial need are secondary considerations. Applicants must have a High School G.P.A. of 2.8 or higher. Preference will be given to students attending the University of Idaho.
Erling Johannesen began his career as Gem County extension agent in 1944. He graduated from the University of Idaho College of Agriculture. For 37 years he inspired 4-H youths to aspire to higher levels of leadership within their club, community and country.
Erling and Amy have supported Idaho 4-H and the University of Idaho with their generous financial gifts. Erling is a Past President of the Idaho 4-H Endowment Board and has served on the University of Idaho Foundation Board.
