Idaho 4-H Key Award
The Idaho 4-H Key Award gives recognition to 4-H members who have achieved significant leadership in the club and in their county. The objective of the program is to encourage project growth, a broad program of 4-H activities over the years, and the ultimate development of outstanding citizens. The wearer of the Idaho 4-H Key can well be proud of his/her contribution to club and community.
Awards will be determined by the county awards committee from among applications (#91809) completed by eligible youth. County Exension staff are to submit the names of the Key Award winners to the State 4-H Office. There is no state due date. Names may be submitted at anytime.
The award in the Idaho 4-H Key Award program is a gold key charm for girls and a tie tack for boys. A certificate is also awarded to each recipient.
The Idaho 4-H Key Awards are presented at a countywide event.
Basic Eligibility Requirements:
- Must have passed 15th birthday by January 1 of the year in which the award is made.
- Have completed four years of 4-H work, including award year.
- Have completed one year of active teen leadership, including award year.
When these three basic requirements are met, a minimum of 35 points is given. Additional points are determined on the score sheet . The applicant must score 125 points or more to earn the Idaho 4-H Key Award.
